WHAT IS emdr PSYCHOTHERAPY?

EMDR Psychotherapy is at comprehensive therapeutic approach and protocol to relieve distressing symptoms and facilitate building up positive beliefs and feelings states within yourself. It helps us understand you and how your past impacts your in the present. When we live through distressing or traumatic events we don’t always get to fully process or understand what has happened, especially when we are younger. These distressing events can impact our entire being: body, mind, and spirit - as Dr. Bessel van der Kolk says, “The body keeps the score”. Our bodies remember experiences, even if our working memory can’t recall an experience. I work with my clients in a supportive, collaborative and relational way, and this approach helps us to give you relief from distressing symptoms, memories, and beliefs and then build a new path forward for yourself. We won’t only focus on reducing your negative experiences, we work together to strengthen what is positive in yourself, adding more supportive, enriching and empowering resources within YOU.
